Jorgenson named his full-service agency after Leo Cancellare, his principal at Cathedral High School, whose teachings became the foundation of his professional philosophy. “Leo taught me things that changed the fabric of my life,” says Jorgenson. “He said things like, ‘If you’re going to do something, do it with enthusiasm or don’t do it at all,’ and, ‘Walk with your head up, but don’t be too proud to pick up trash at your feet.’”
The El Paso native began his media career at seventeen as an intern at KVIA Channel 7, working up to ten hours daily while pursuing a degree in Mass Communications at the University of Texas at El Paso. Within three and a half months, he advanced from intern to full-time prime time editor and eventually photojournalist, earning eleven Associated Press awards and Photojournalist of the Year honors in 2004.
After transitioning to KVIA’s Promotions and Marketing Department and building a freelance production business, Jorgenson launched Leo Marketing in 2009. The agency has since positioned itself as one of the largest production companies in Texas and the Southwest.
